The KT-1 Key Chain token provides unparalleled convenience in a portable, computing environment independent token. It's simplicity makes it the ideal authentication token for users of virtually any skill level.

The KT-1 Key Chain token generates a new password each time the token is activated. The token is activated by pressing the button located to the right and below the LCD display.

Preprogrammed and Unprogrammed Tokens

Preprogrammed KT-1 tokens which are deployment ready as well as unprogrammed KT-1 tokens which must be initialized using CRYPTO-Server are available from CRYPTOCard. The default operating parameters for preprogrammed tokens are:

  • Encryption Type: AES 192 bit
  • Passcode Type: Numeric
  • Passcode Length: 6
  • PIN Type: prepend to password

KT-1 tokens (preprogrammed and unprogrammed) support a wide range of operating modes which can be modified using CRYPTO-Server and a serial or USB token initializer, according to organizational and security policy requirements. The initialization process requires 10 - 15 seconds to programme/reprogramme a token. A brief list of the more common operating modes follows. Refer to the CRYPTO-Server Administrator Guide for a complete list of modes and options.

The KT-1 is powered by 2 replaceable coin-cell batteries which typically provide 5 to 6 years of in the field service. Batteries may be replaced as required to extend the service life of the token. A low battery warning will appear on the LCD display approximately 2 months before the batteries are exhausted.

CRYPTOCard provides a 5 year limited warranty for the KT-1 token.
