The NetAccountant add-on software module enhances the application performance management and SLA/QoS enforcement capabilities of the NetEnforcer® with accurate data collection and server-based reporting.

After investing heavily in infrastructure, enterprises and service providers need to maximize network performance and profitability. In the enterprise, tracking usage is critical, whether to prevent P2P from choking the network or to ensure that business-critical applications perform as needed. Policy-Powered Accounting

Policy-Powered Accounting Allot Communications NetAccountant add-on software module enhances the NetEnforcer's application performance management and SLA/QoS enforcement capabilities with accurate data collection, agent-based reporting and server-based reporting.

• Data Collection

  The NetAccountant collects all traffic data per session according to the same policies used by the NetEnforcer. Collected traffic data is either stored locally in the NetEnforcer's internal MySQL database or exported to a RADIUS server.

• Agent-Based Reporting

  Accessed from the NetEnforcer® GUI, the NetAccountant displays easy-to-read, tabular reports based on collected data in the NetEnforcer's database.

• Server-Based Reporting

  The server-based NetAccountant Reporter enables you to create sophisticated graphical reports based on the traffic data collected by the NetEnforcer. In addition to basic reports such as "most active clients" or "top protocols", NetAccountant Reporter offers drill down reports such as "most active clients for a specific Pipe" or "top protocols per server".

Features and Benefits

• Record Complete IP Session Details

  NetAccountant collects complete details of each IP session, modeled on telephony's well-known call detail record (CDR). NetAccountant records time period, origin, destination, service/protocol, traffic quantities, policies used, and ToS setting. Complete session details enable you to generate reports regardless of the policies used to manage your bandwidth. This enables you to observe new network phenomena before they negatively impact your network and to proactively set and modify network policies.

NetAccountant's agent-based tabular report shows all session data.

• Create Detailed Performance Reports

  The NetAccountant Reporter enables network administrators to create advanced network usage reports for improved allocation of network resources. Using sophisticated graphical views, the NetAccountant Reporter offers a comprehensive view of network traffic and behavior.

• Enable Usage-Based and Tiered Services Billing

  Service providers can use the NetAccountant to measure specific customer usage of bandwidth and resources. This information enables them to bill customers for actual bandwidth used and/or to create multiple service offerings. For example, customers could be charged one rate for data traffic and a higher rate for voice over IP in which a higher level of quality of service is required.
  

• OSS and Billing Support

  NetAccountant offers an efficient interface to operational support systems (OSS) and customer care and billing systems (CCB). For service providers such as satellite and wireless ISPs, Web hosting providers and others, NetAccountant provides the needed session-oriented information for proper customer billing and rating. For example, this can be performed by using the RADIUS accounting interface.

• Discover Under- and Over-Utilized Links and Resources

  Use NetAccountant to create protocol and host distribution reports on specific problem areas in your network. After pinpointing under- and over-utilized links and resources that prevent maximum network and application performance, adjust your network policies to reallocate bandwidth and the distribution of applications to servers.

• Intuitive Report Wizard
  

  NetAccountant offer intuitive Report Wizards that speed report creation. The wizard removes the complexity of working directly with the SQL databases or the need to master report generators in order to create graphical and tabular reports. Quickly create meaningful reports in just a few steps using radio buttons and drop-down menus that feature standard NetEnforcer terms such as "Virtual Channel", "Pipe", "client" etc.
