Introduction: Cisco Catalyst 2950 LRE Series Switches
The Catalyst 2950 Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) Series Switches enable enterprises and service providers to extend intelligent Ethernet services over existing phone and legacy wiring. With a reach of up to 5000 feet, enterprises can deploy productivity enhancing applications across their entire network while avoiding the costs of rewiring. Also, service providers now have a cost-effective solution for delivering metro Ethernet services that leverages their existing copper infrastructure.
The Catalyst 2950 LRE switches support the enhanced image of the Catalyst 2950 Series with the same advanced quality of service (QoS), high availability and enhanced security. The Catalyst 2950 LRE switches also feature Gigabit Ethernet connectivity via either fixed 10/100/1000 ports or SFP ports.
Available for the Catalyst 2950 Series, the Cisco Network Assistant is a free centralized management application that simplifies the administration task of Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access point. Cisco Network Assistant offers user-friendly GUI interface to easily configure, troubleshoot, and enable and monitor the network.
