The Cisco MGX 8230 Edge Concentrator is a small footprint multiservice gateway specifically designed for service providers with space and power constraints. The Cisco MGX 8230 offers cost-effective narrowband, voice, and IP services; and acts as an edge concentrator to Cisco BPX 8600 series, Cisco MGX 8850 Series Multiservice Switches and Cisco IGX 8400 series multiservice switches. The Cisco MGX 8230 Edge Concentrator offers up to 1.2 Gbps of switching capacity and scales from DS0 to OC-12c/STM-4.
