Identrica

Identrica System Variants

The Identrica™ system variants is a primarily designed to provide strong authentication of an individual user by confirming that they both know something (their password) and possess something personal to them (their mobile phone). The combination of these two factors provides a high degree of confidence that users really are who they claim to be.
There are however some circumstances in which it is appropriate to use a fixed line (landline) instead of a mobile phone. Some of these are described below.

Identrica™ Group Access to shared facilities
Sometimes a group of users need to have access to a resource which is open to them but closed to people outside their "community". For example, a legal database might be available on a corporate subscription to everyone in a large law firm.
It would be possible to give everyone individual access using Identrica™ and their mobile phone numbers: but it might be simpler to designate one landline telephone number belonging to the law firm as the Identrica™ Group Access number. In practice this would probably be the number associated with the company's switchboard. Any member of the law firm could then gain access to the legal database by calling the Identrica™ number from a telephone in the office, and providing the correct password or PIN.
Traveling or homebased staff would of course be able to authenticate themselves by using their mobile phones in the normal way.

Identrica™ "NightWatch" location verifier
It is sometimes necessary to verify that an employee or contractor was physically present at a given location at a specified time - for example an estate agent might want to be able to show that a property was inspected, or a social work department might want reassurance that an individual was visited at a certain time by a care worker.
In these situations Identrica's comprehensive event record can confirm that a phone call was received from the landline situated at the appropriate premises - the managed property or the individual's home - and the exact time at which it was made.

Identrica™ "Gapfiller"
In some rural locations - and even some modern office blocks - it is not possible to make mobile phone calls. In certain medical and industrial environments mobile phones must be switched off.
However, in many circumstances it may be perfectly acceptable simply to replace a call from the user's mobile phone with a call from an appropriate fixed telephone line.
