Juniper Networks SBR SIM Server

Juniper Networks SBR SIM Server

  • High-performance RADIUS/AAA server manages authentication and service delivery on GSM, CDMA networks
  • Allows providers to offer IP-based services such as public WLAN access to your GSM subscribers
  • Leverage your SIM or SMS infrastructure to facilitate secure subscriber provisioning, authentication, and billing
  • Works in 802.1X, non-802.1X, and UMA environments

Overview

The Juniper Networks Steel-Belted Radius SIM Server lets you provide IP-based services such as public WLAN and Unlicensed Mobile Alliance (UMA) access to your subscribers, while leveraging your existing customer care and authentication infrastructure. Appropriate for GSM and CDMA infrastructures, SBR SIM provides AAA services for 802.1X and non-802.1X hotspots and UMA networks, enabling several new service offerings. You can offer secure hotspot access via 802.1X and EAP-SIM or EAP-AKA user authentication. In non-802.1X environments, you can authenticate hotspot users to the network based on out-of-band delivery of a secure one-time password via the SMS text messaging protocol. Finally, SBR SIM supports user authentications described for UMA environments, allowing you to extend mobile services over IP access networks, providing the same mobile identity on unlicensed wireless networks as on the mobile network, and enable roaming and handover between networks.
