Introduction: RedM
The line between wired and wireless
networking is blurred beyond recovery. Wireless solutions
available to the IT manager today are capable of building
a stable and productive wireless platform. But with
standards not clearly defined and lots of different
vendors vying for attention, how do you decide on best
practice? Read our new Red
Paper...
The new standard
for corporate networking
There is no going back. Wireless technology
is set to become the standard for corporate networking
and it will change the world as dramatically as the
advent of PCs and the internet. Wireless technology
offers substantial efficiency and productivity gains,
enabling staff to work faster and smarter. However,
it does introduce new security threats to every network,
whether wired or wireless. With wireless technology
anyone within radio range can reach right through your
existing network boundaries and into the heart of your
enterprise without your permission and even without
your knowledge. Wireless communication occurs unseen
in the air around your territory and bypasses all known
security systems.
Making it Safe to Adopt Wireless technology
Red-M's long-term vision and comprehensive
product range set the standard for secure wireless control.
We solve the unprecedented problems of implementing
control across wireless spaces without compromising
service levels for authorized users.
Reclaim control of
your airspace
At Red-M we specialize in making the tools that help
you reclaim control of the airspace around your network.
Every product we create is ground-breaking and designed
to protect not only your data, but also your investment
in rapidly evolving wireless technology.
Products
Our mission is to help enterprises
solve the unprecedented problems of implementing secure
controls across intelligent wireless networks while
providing true mobility for authorized users.
With our comprehensive understanding
of the sweeping implications of wireless technology,
Red-M leads the way in providing control and security
for the wireless world. We have developed a series of
software products that detect, secure and control wireless
LANs (whichever technology you adopt), enabling organizations
to build robust scaleable wireless networks.
Red-Alert
Monitors wireless activity around the clock to detect
security risks. Wireless activity occurs invisibly
in the airspace around your company, making it easy
for unwanted intruders to attack your network by stealth.
Red-Alert intelligently analyzes the environment around
your network and alerts you immediately to unauthorized
wireless activity in your airspace.Like putting on night
vision goggles in the dark, Red-Alert lets you see the
airspace around your network so that you can reclaim
control.
Red-Alert PRO
The first standalone wireless probe in the world
to detect the presence of Bluetooth and 802.11 a, b
and g WLAN
The Red-Alert PRO intrusion detection systems (IDS)
advances wireless security to a new level of capability
by detecting all WLAN bands and Bluetooth. It intelligently
analyzes the environment around your network and alerts
you immediately to unauthorized wireless activity in
your airspace. Like putting on night vision goggles
in the dark, Red-Alert PRO lets you see the airspace
around your network so that you can reclaim control.
Red-Detect

Reports all threatening wireless
activity monitored by multiple probes for immediate
action and auditing
Red-Detect finds wireless activity, including data
from multiple adjacent probes. Analysis by the Red-Detect
centralized server creates a consolidated view of wireless
activity and plots trend graphs for management reporting.
All information is stored in a database to create meaningful
audit trails.Red-Detect can be scaled to support thousands
of probes and it can be intelligently tailored to display
only user-defined events of interest.
Red-Vision
The ultimate tool for controlling the
wireless environment.
Wireless extends the network environment from a two-dimensional
to a three-dimensional space. The exponential levels
of complexity this creates are dynamically managed by
Red-Vision to give users the quality of service they
expect, while enabling network managers to maintain
effective overall management. Because Red-Vision automates
control and security tasks, the enterprise benefits
from substantial productivity and efficiency gains and
a robust scalable wireless environment.
Red-Access

Extend LAN network services to devices such as PDAs
and laptop PCs with a Red-Access LAN access point. This
innovative product provides users with wireless access
to Internet and intranet-based services via a range
of Bluetooth devices.

Bluetooth Access Point
Extend LAN network services to devices such
as PDAs and laptop PCs with a Red-Access LAN
access point. This innovative product provides
users with wireless access to Internet and intranet-based
services via a range of Bluetooth devices. The
Red-Access LAN access point is designed to give
users low cost mobility in the workplace and
provides coverage of up to 100m in open areas.
As a stand-alone product, Red-Access provides
an excellent introduction to Bluetooth networking.
Alternatively, multiple access points can be
installed on the LAN and managed by a central
server running Red-Secure. This provides corporate
users with a scaleable, centrally managed and
controlled solution.
Bluetooth
The built-in radio has an enhanced receiver,
maximising wireless range, and the product is
Bluetooth 1.1 approved to ensure maximum compatibility
and interoperability with other products. Multiple
Bluetooth devices can simultaneously share a
Red-Access LAN access point giving them access
to all the IP based network services and applications
on an Ethernet LAN.
Installation
Red-Access LAN access points are easy to
install and can be connected using a building's
existing structured Ethernet cabling or by connecting
each access point to the next in a daisy-chain
configuration. Access points can be used with
a DHCP server on the LAN, or configured with
static addresses. Configurations can be saved
and copied to Red-Access LAN access Points. Management
Management of the LAN access point is accomplished
via a standard browser interface and the product's
internal Web server. To ensure high levels of
security connection to the network can be restricted,
using optional Bluetooth encryption, and up
to 32 users (devices) can be granted access
rights. Alternatively access can be left open
to allow connection by any users or Bluetooth
enabled devices. |
